What You Will Do: The CNC Operator, reporting to the Shift Supervisor, is responsible for adhering to all policies and procedures related to the various parts and equipment they are trained and certified to operate. Additionally, operators are tasked with loading and unloading parts to meet production demands, inspecting parts using various precision measuring tools, and making decisions to accept or reject parts. They must also effectively communicate any changes both verbally and in writing.Essential Duties:

• Operate appropriate CNC flat surface and creep feed grinding equipment and other machinery as necessary to produce the required number of correct parts in a timely manner according to process documentation. This can include operating multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously
• Analyze and interpret Op sheets, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and travelers to produce products that meet or exceed customer specifications
• Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to customer specifications, using precision measuring tools and equipment as necessary (micrometers, calipers, gauges [pin, thread, indicator, height], optical comparators, and coordinate measuring machines [CMM]
• Maintain working knowledge of CNC principles, including G and M codes
• Maintain working knowledge of rotary/linear axes
• Selects, aligns, and secures fixtures, grinding wheels, and workpieces on machines as necessary to machine parts as required
• Analyze and interpret CMM reports and properly offset machine dimensions to meet customer specifications
• Perform deburring operations to within specified tolerances
• Document actions by updating control charts, travelers, and reporting labor in the ERP system
• Perform under AS9100 quality standards and NADCAP accreditation
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping duties

• Follow all Hi-Tek policies and procedures, including the use of proper PPE Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • CNC Machining certificate from a Trade School preferred or acceptable work experience in lieu of schooling
  • Must meet the ITAR definition of -120.15 U.S. person
  • Duty-related experience, including operation of flat surface grinders preferred
  • Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment, aerospace industry preferred
  • Experience with G & M codes preferredKey Competencies:
