Attorney General's Office has played a vital role in shaping Ohio's

future. The office consists of nearly 30 distinct sections that
advocate for consumers and victims of crime, assist the criminal
justice community, provide legal counsel for state offices and
agencies, and enforce certain state laws. In these and other
capacities, staff members interact with tens of thousands of
Ohioans each year.Job DescriptionThe Ohio Attorney General's Office
is currently seeking an experienced, licensed attorney with a
passion for public service, demonstrated commitment to protecting
the unprotected, and an ability to effectively manage diverse
groups to serve as the Section Chief of our Education section.The
successful candidate will carry out the policies of the Attorney
General, manage Assistant Attorneys General and support staff, and
will have a strong sensitivity to client needs. We are seeking a
licensed attorney with at least seven (7) years of management
experience in the legal profession.The Education Section:
- Represents Ohio's 14 universities and 23 two-year state
community colleges, community colleges, and technical colleges.
This representation involves coordination of the work of in-house
attorneys who handle the day-to-day work for the colleges and
universities. The representation also includes working with and
overseeing the special counsel.
- Provides advice and training on issues relating to higher
education, including employment, state contracts, student privacy,
and discipline.
- Represents the colleges and universities in federal and state
courts as well as in administrative matters.
- Handles litigation in federal and state courts and
administrative hearings related to Ohio's community schools
(charter schools), special education services, educator discipline
and licensure, territory transfer, transportation, child nutrition,

- Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio pursuant to
Section 4705.01 of the Ohio Revised Code.
- Seven (7) years of management experience in the legal
profession.
