MIDDLETOWN, OHIO
Middletown is a vibrant City of over 50,000 residents located in
Butler and Warren Counties between Cincinnati and Dayton.
Incorporated in 1833, Middletown is known for its dynamic culture,
growing economy, and storied history in manufacturing. Designated
an All-America City, Middletown is home to the Middletown Municipal
Airport, one of the most active regional airports in the State of
Ohio.
The City of Middletown is looking for a qualified individual to
fill the position of Assistant City Manager. This position reports
directly to the City Manager and assists with the City's daily
administration and long-term goals and objectives. The Assistant
City Manager has functional and line authority over department
directors and other personnel, ensuring the smooth operation of the
City government. Under the guidance of the City Manager, they
ensure that all programs, policies, and initiatives established by
the City Council are implemented in a timely manner and in
accordance with the required administrative policies and
procedures.
This role involves actively communicating project statuses and
issues to the City Manager, keeping them informed about all
activities, progress, and any challenges. The Assistant City
Manager also facilitates effective communication with department
directors regarding changes in regulations, procedures, or policies
while gathering information from them about project concerns and
progress.
Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration or Management, Business
Administration, or other closely related professional field. Master
of Public Administration or similar graduate degree preferred,
supplemented by at least five years of progressive supervisory
experience in a local government setting; or equivalent combination
of training and experience.
Salary Range: $126,169.68 - $182,056.16 annually plus benefit
package.
