Job Description:
A company is looking for a Director of Research &
Development.
Key Responsibilities
Redesign pre-blends to reduce costs while maintaining nutritional
quality and palatability
Lead new product development initiatives and optimize existing
formulations
Ensure compliance with AAFCO, NRC, FDA, and USDA guidelines for pet
food
Required Qualifications
Experience in pet food R&D, preferably with a challenger
brand
Food science background with expertise in meat science and
formulation
Experience launching various pet food products beyond kibble or
canned options
Strong technical knowledge in AAFCO compliance and ingredient
selection
Hands-on experience in a test kitchen and understanding of
commercial scale-up processes
