Position Title: Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Plant Manager

Shift: Second 3:30 pm - 2 am (some flexibility)

Location: Urbana Oh



Position Summary

To ensure the plant & equipment perform to the required standard to facilitate

production targets, cost, quality & delivery. This position works within multiple areas

and requires a high degree of self-direction. Close working relations with technical &

production departments will be essential to ensure production is supported at all times.



Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Obtain orders - - - -
• Confer with operator and observes, test and evaluates operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunction - - - -
• Disassemble machinery to remove parts and make repair - - - -
• Examine parts for defects such as breakage or excessive wear - - - -
• Repairs, replaces, adjust and aligns components of machine Involves getting on knees, climbing into and on press, working from ladder up to 13 feet - - - -
• Frequently lifts up to 50 pounds and frequently pushes and pulls 20-30 pounds of force in moving machinery parts - - - -
• Awkward positioning to climb in and on machinery - - - -
• Constant use of tools weighing up to 20 pounds - - - -
• Test runs repaired machinery - - - -
• Fabricate replacement parts - - - -
• Welds to repair broken parts, fabricate new pars and assembles - - - -
• Repair or replaces electrical wiring - - - -
• Weekly lubrication and inspections on machinery - - - -
• Clean equipment, order parts and record keepingQualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance - - - -
  • Knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models - - - -
  • Knowledge of powered tools - - - -
  • The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged - - - -
  • The ability to quickly and repeatedly make precise adjustments in moving the controls of a machine or vehicle to exact positions - - - -
  • The ability to see details of objects at a close range (within a few feet of the observer) - - - -
  • The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing - - - -
  • The ability to quickly make coordinated movements of one hand, a hand together with its arm, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects - - - -
