Job Title: CAD DrafterLocation: Columbus, OH Job Overview: We are looking for a skilled CAD Drafter with a strong background in AutoCAD and Civil 3D to join our team. The role will involve creating, updating, and managing design drawings related to Outside Plant (OSP) telecommunications, including aerial and underground projects. You will be working with a variety of stakeholders, including local municipalities and Telco engineers, to gather necessary information and produce detailed engineering drawings.Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D to create base maps and detailed engineering drawings for OSP projects, including copper, fiber optics, coaxial cables, manholes, handholes, and conduit systems.
• Develop running line designs and prepare conduit and cable layouts for both aerial and underground installations.
• Collaborate with local municipalities, Telco engineers, and construction crews to obtain OSP records, maps, and other related information.
• Conduct site surveys, interpret field notes, and update engineering drawings accordingly.
• Manage GIS layering, base-mapping, and implement Make-Ready Engineering practices.
• Ensure compliance with city, county, state, and local permitting requirements, including encroachment permits, traffic control permits, and specialty permits (e.g., UPRR, Caltrans).Requirements:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with experience in base-mapping, GIS, and layering.
  • Thorough understanding of Outside Plant telecom design, including running line, conduit, cable systems, and Make-Ready Engineering.
  • Familiarity with public right-of-way, private easements, and existing utilities (e.g., water, sewer, electric, gas).
  • Knowledge of city, county, state, and local encroachment permits, traffic control permits, easement rights, and various environmental permits.
  • Ability to interact effectively with local municipalities, Telco engineers, and construction/maintenance personnel.
  • Experience in reading blueprints, conduit prints, and floor plans.
  • Ability to read permits and establish traffic control plans.
  • At least 2 years of related drafting experience.Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience working with a wide range of utilities and construction drawings.
